Throwing light on the greatest app that I ever use - The Notion tool, which kinda acts as my second brain.

First things first, the Notion is an open-source notetaking and project management software that is widely used for task management, personal management, personal CRM. The software is compatible with both macOS and Windows and it is consistent both in iOS and in Android. The app lets you use databases and markdown pages for use in personal and collaboration work.

What is Notion to me?

Notion is my everything - my calendar, my remainder, my to-do list, my asset tracker, my brain dump, my budget tracker, my restaurant picker, my personal CRM, etc. Notion helps me in documenting my life. I write down random shit and sometimes even brainstorming ideas in my Notion.

So basically, my entire life operating system is my Notion Tool and a couple of people inspired me to start using this great tool - Jeff Su and Ali Abdaal. Even the ideas for this blogging get right away straight into my Notion so that I don't forget and can later build on that idea which eventually gets into my blog. This is one such scenario where I effectively use Notion. But Notion is a lot more than that.

Why one should start using Notion?

The only regret that I have is that the regret of discovering this exciting app so late. I have also started to encourage others in my circle to kick off using Notion.

“Your mind is for having ideas, not holding them.”

- David Allen in his book 'Getting things done'

David perfectly hints that our brain is a place for having ideas and not memorizing those ideas. For that reason, I recommend whenever you get an amazing idea, go to Notion and start scribbling them. You might never know, it can turn into a million-dollar idea.

Tips on using Notion

Normalize the fact that everyone was a beginner once. So embrace being a beginner and no one is an expert. Start small notes in Notion and eventually you can build your personal life operating system in Notion as I did.

You can also use a lot of pre-loaded templates available in the Notion itself. And also, you can get inspired by Jeff Su's playlist on productivity hacks and Ali Abdaal's playlist on How to use Notion.

As the proverb goes, "Plans are nothing; planning is everything" this blog is "the need of the hour"

Just explored it and could understand that it is "all-in-one workspace".

I was actually using different apps for note taking, planning, storing & managing and now "notion" is going to be my very own "Personal Virtual Assistant " XD

Good one Kishore! Appreciate it 😃
